Raspberry Pi 4 Launched With Dual Display Support

RPI 4 is the first ever to be advertised as “complete desktop computer”.

Since Pi 4 was not expected until 2020, the Raspberry Pi foundation has announced the brand new Pi 4 taking many fans and the community members by surprise.

It has the ability to drive two 4K displays at once, offers 3x processing power and has 4x multimedia performance than the previous Raspberry Pi 3. Gigabit Ethernet and USB 3.0 connectivity are also included.

"The vision behind Raspberry Pi 4 is to make a rich multimedia PC experience accessible to everyone ... By offering a 'just right' level of performance for most users, we've been able to do this at roughly a tenth the cost of a traditional desktop PC." said Eben Christopher Upton ( CEO, Raspberry Pi Ltd.)

RPI 4 will be available in 3 models offering 1GB (approximately Rs. 2,430), 2GB (approximately Rs. 3,125), and 4GB (approximately Rs. 3,820) of RAM.

An upgrade to USB Type-C for power input allows for enough current to support connected USB devices, which was not possible before. The Raspberry Pi foundation has also made affordable USB Type-C power supplies, cables, and adapters available through its global distributors to help reduce overall development costs.
