Now you can drive car made up of sugar

Touted as the world's first circular car “The Noah electric car” is the new buzz in the market of automobiles. Noah electric city car is built by students from TU Eindhoven University of Technology and is made out of biocomposite with flax and sugar being the main component.

 It is based on the circular economy concept during the design process. The car weighs only 350 kilograms which makes it one of the lightest car in the world. The drivetrain of Noah consists of an electric motor which is powered by six modular batteries and a 'smesh gear' transmission. Noah has a top speed of 100 kmph and a 240 km of electric range. The chassis is built out of a sandwich panel combining the biocomposite with a honeycomb structured core from sugar. The whole panel is made only out of flax and sugar which is now recyclable.

The student team says that it has a dream, “To build a car that is sustainable in all its phases of life”. This project started way in September 2017 and now it has passed road safety tests in the Netherlands.
