IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav welcomed Intel in India

There is a boom in the news of chipmaker Intel making semiconductors in India. This news gained more attention when Intel's Foundry Service President Randhir Thakur in his tweet congratulated the Ministry of Electronics and IT on the announcement of incentives from semiconductor design to manufacturing and appreciated the efforts of the Government of India towards making electronics and semiconductor hubs.

Later Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav also commented on Randhir Thakur's tweet in which he welcomed Intel in India. Let me tell you that earlier this month the government had announced investing Rs 76 thousand crores for semiconductor chip manufacturing in India. As per the IT ministry sources, detailed guidelines will be issued for companies wishing to establish semiconductor chip manufacturing units at the beginning of the new year.

However, let me tell you that till no official confirmation has been made from Intel regarding making semiconductor chips in India. If some reports are to be believed, apart from India, Intel is also planning to open its semiconductor chip manufacturing units in America, South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan.
