All virtual machine software users will no more be able to run Windows 11.

Microsoft has recently disclosed that following the newest early update version, the new Windows 11 beta version will exclusively operate on virtual machines that support TPM 2.0 protection. This news might bring sadness to the faces of those using VM software. This rule is equally applied for laptops and PCs using the new Windows 11 os. This move was not surprising, according to TechRadar, however, it may irritate consumers who are still not familiar with Windows 11's hardware specifications.

As a result of these new changes, only a chosen few will be able to operate the release version, which will be officially released on 5 October. In case virtual machines created with Microsoft's proprietary hypervisor, which comes free with Windows 10 Pro, are set as "Generation 2" virtual machines then only it will run Windows 11. VMware Workstation Pro also complies with the new TPM standard, according to Neowin.

Microsoft says virtual machines built with the company's own hypervisor, which comes free with Windows 10 Pro, will run Windows. 11 if they are configured as "Generation 2" virtual machines. Furthermore, other popular virtualization services, such as Oracle VirtualBox and Citrix Hypervisor, may or may not face the needs.
