  • Released on March 2006
  • Began offering IT infrastructure services to businesses
  • Dominates the cloud computing domain with 40% of market share

List of Services –

  1. Compute – commonly refers to the collection of cloud computing resources that your application can run on.
  2. Storage – These services offer durable, highly available, and massively scalable cloud storage for your application, whether it runs in the cloud or not.
  3. Networking & Content Delivery – Helps us in easily provision private networks, connect your cloud application to your on-premises datacenters, and more.
  1. Database – Database services refers to options for storing data, whether it’s a managed relational SQL database that’s globally distributed or a multi-model NoSQL database designed for any scale.
  1. Analytics & Big Data – Most informed decisions possible by analyzing all the data you need in real-time.
  1. Intelligence – Very important and buzz word on the market nowadays. It enables the natural and contextual interaction within your applications, using machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities that include text, speech, vision, and search.

Who Wins?

Both AWS and Azure are very much toe-to-toe because both offer many similar capabilities and it all depends on what our business needs. Gartner ranks Amazon Web Services (AWS) at the top and Azure ranked to second however Azure growing extremely. Customers who already have Microsoft ecosystem and are interested in a cloud then Azure offers advantages. Customers want a cloud platform that interfaces with on-premise infrastructure then Azure got more weight.
